p.1 #1 · Anyone using Premiere Pro CS4 Mac

I bought CS4 Master Collection, after having run Premiere Pro V4 demo successfully on dual core Mac Desktop with Tiger, then with Snow Leopard 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2, and upgraded Premiere to V4.2.

Then got new iMac 27". I have installed, reinstalled, updated, trouble shooted and done everything recommended several times and all Premiere knows how to do is crash on both Macs. Sat on the phone waiting for Adode support for 45 minutes and give up, Nobody at Apple store knows anything about Premiere, even though they sell it. Just ordered Final Cut Pro and have my fingers crossed.

My God, Adobe/Apple, are you real companies or just corporate shams?

Any similar comments or experiences?

The CS4 apps are having all kinds of problems with Snow Leopard, honestly. I've had a number of Lightroom/Photoshop crashes, some that lock my entire Mac Pro, and OnLocation CS4 can't seem to live preview incoming Firewire video anymore, making it useless. Apparently Adobe knows about all of this but are dragging their feet a bit with fixes.

Have you considered Final Cut Express? I think it's a far superior app for video editing as long as you can standardize your incoming video to Quicktime or don't mind converting/transcoding it from other formats.

I got this from the Adobe blog. I read something about Premiere somewhere else, don't remember where.
I held out on updating till most of this is resolved, hard learned lessons from the past.

Snow Leopard 10.6.2 fixes problems with Photoshop
Good news: Apple has released a Snow Leopard update that fixes a number of problems customers have reported. The Photoshop team has been helping Apple test these fixes and can confirm the following improvements:

Affecting multiple versions of Photoshop:

50654: When opening and saving, applications--including Adobe applications--may sporadically crash
51230: Images don't open when dragged onto the Adobe program icon in the Dock
51220: Crash or program error occurs when using Menlo font in Photoshop and Premiere CS3 and CS4

CS4-specific:

51764: Only one image opens when many are dragged onto Photoshop's icon
51278: Cursors don't display correctly in Photoshop CS4
51339: Editing in Photoshop CS4 fails from 64-bit Lightroom in Mac OS X 10.6
Cannot drag from Safari onto Photoshop icon (and other application icons) in Dock to open file

I have SN 6.2 and Premiere 4.2. Premiere just won't work - even on Leopard 5.8 on either machine. I can build a small project and have it work, then if I save it and open it - crash crash. "Import server" hangs up and won't go away even after I force quit Premiere,

Demo version worked OK. Seems to be additional interactive apps in the retail version. Gave up trying to reach Adobe after 45 minutes on hold. This is why we pay a full time phone receptionist that never leaves people on hold and I refuse to act like this. Been using Mac and Adobe since PS V1 and first Mac.

Yes, Shatterkiss, I have Final Cut Pro coming this morning. Thanks for the feedback.
