I'm sure there was great light in the arena but, still... looks like the D700 did a bang up job handling the high ISO with a great SS. Very nice images Geoff. Must be exciting to shoot a big D1 school like UCONN. Keep up the great work.

Geoffrey: Action, isolation and framing are awesome. But all of these look a bit dark, like they're in need of a brightness adjustment (or some equivalent) to bring out the pop.

Geeze Geoff, you are everywhere!!!!
Great capture of actions! They are a little dark like Russ said and I think you could have gone up to ISO2500 or more on these instead of staying below ISO1600. D700 produces beautiful files all the way up to 6400, and then some!!!

Great stuff--we have season tix but I had a state vball game to cover.
See you there on December 10--I may have a floor pass, as one of Hartford's players went to a local HS and my editor wants to do a feature on Daphne in the big time.

Bob really wasn't that high of an ISO! Bounced around from 1250-1600 or so.
Russ, interesting they seem to be darker on the web than in LR for me, will look into it. I know they are close to spot on as I have had no issues with my contact at southcreek. They normally let me know if there is a WB or under/over exposure.
John, yeah I seem to get around! Not as much as you though!! As I said to Russ, they don't seem dark in a non web browser. I do know the D700 produces some great files and i will be getting it right this weekend with Luketrot in Boston!
Todd, looking forward to meeting you if you are there. I am planning on that game but it does all depend on how my travels from the previous day go. Otherwise I should be around there on most other nights/days.
p.1 #7 · NCAA Basketball - Women - Vanguard vs UConn
It's too bad UConn and Rutgers don't have a home and home this year. Huge mistake on the part of the Big East if you ask me. Seemed like our Scarlet Knights were the only team to give UConn a run for their money (losing by ONLY 10 at the RAC, that was as close as anyone came right?) last year and it was getting to be a really great rivalry.
Probably won't make the trip up to Hartford for their only matchup this year, but have fun.

Thanks Will, too bad, i would have liked to have met up with you. Let alone the Big East Championships are in Hartford as well so UConn has a pretty good advantage there.
