p.1 #1 · White Lightning and Cyber Commander

Hello all,

i'm currently thinking about getting a new strobe. i'm considering the white lightning x1600 since it can be powered way down to be like an ab400 and be powered up to be like an ab1600. I'd also like to take advantage of the control of a cyber commander. My question is, how is the cyber commander with the white lightning? Is it hard to use? Maybe if I'm not all that pressed I should just wait on the Einstein? It seems like a long time to wait although I'm not too too pressed to get a strobe at the moment. I've read that it isn't straight out of the box easy to use and configure but I was wondering what you folks thought about it...

It's not any more difficult to identify the WL to the Cybercommander than it is to add a new device to a computer. The CyberCommander knows the basic parameters of each model of Buff light--you just have to identify which model you have and what power modeling light you've put on it.

The only other issue is that the 1/4 switch on the x1600 is not handled by CyberCommander--you have to manually depress or unpress that switch, then tell CyberCommander that you've done it.

If you really can wait for Einstein, it promises enough overall improvement to wait for it. Otherwise, the X1600 is only inconvenient with regard to that 1/4 power button. I personally never use it--I'm always starved for more power.

Great thanks! I placed my order! I don't mind about the 1/4 button issue!
