After spraying the camelia leaves with the normal sugar/honey solution I put some drops of the remainder on the shoulder of a water barrel. later on this attracted a wasp which fed on the drops and then twice proceeded to blow some small bubbles (drops) rather like flies often do. Never seen a wasp do this before !

I assume the 'sweet mix' that you use is mainly an attractant, but when the insects are feeding, do they become more relaxed and approachable?
