p.1 #1 · export for post printer question

We have a 3000x4000 pixel image from a point-n-shoot.

The online printer support person requested we send an image of 1200x1600 pixels to print the poster. Does it matter what DPI we export from Lightroom?

I said "no". Another photographer said we need to set it at "300 DPI".

The posters are 12"x16". So to me, it looks like the printer's printer uses 100 DPI.

So does it really matter if we are sending it to a lab to print?

Thanks.

I would send it to a different poster printer who can print 3000x4000.
