Menzi is a hill located on the Del Monte Plantation in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. I shot this low to the ground with my D80, using a Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8 DX lens, that I later discovered has a “loose” inner barrel.
Anyway, I’m using Adobe Lightroom for post processing and wondering if there is anything else I can do to give it the “finished” look.
Just looking for advice. I’m new to using Lightroom, or any other photo processing software for that matter, so I’m just looking for tips on what to “look” for in my photographs.
Like the fact that #2 above is straightened. I still like #1 better, as it was just a spontaneous shot vs. set up for proper framing and composition....
I like it. Thanks for taking the time to work on it so I can see the difference. Sorry for the delay in getting back, but I’ve been working insane hours the past month. It really helps me see what I’m not seeing!
Thanks Scott. We’re done with what we call a “turn-around” so life should be more normal, at least until the next one! Now I have time to get out and work on my skills with the camera!
Stick you your unstraightened crop!!!!! It is MUCH more dynamic.
a SLIGHT bump to the clarity/vibrance sliders should do the trick. Lighten shadows a touch too to bring out a bit more background detail. Dont overdo it, you have a very good image. Youll notice that the differences I made are small. Some carful selective sharpening would help but only if you have a high res image. I didnt attempt due to the web size image... It just artifacts too much. Also, I closned out the small peice of trash/plastic/somthing in the foreground. you might also clone out that white streak on the left side of the frame on the road, it is distracting.
