Very nice conversion here. Really like your POV and a great choice of shutter speed some very nice detail left in the flowing water. Nice work here Morris

Hi Morris, good choice of SS to maintain the sense of movement in the water. It's a personal choice, but I'd prefer more of a Pan-X, less contrast look for this.

Thank you Hugh,
Even if I were shooting with Pan-X, I would have tried a red filter to get this effect. I did convert with more of the green channel and it was too flat for my taste. I usually used Tri-X as I liked the grain and would push it for some things.
I am glad you decided to come over here and visit with us! What a truly wonderful shot. A great composition, and a really great job in your B&W conversion. That is a really cool looking river.

Thank you Jim,
It is my pleasure to come here and will do it more. If you are ever in Ithaca, this is a must see with your tripod and camera. There is a cascade ever ¼ mile for about 2 miles. It is rather steep in places, stopping to take photos helps :-}

I do not know if it is intentional or part of your processing, but I really like how the darkened edges of the photo lead my eyes directly to the falls. Nice photo and conversion.

Good call on the BW conversion technique - these are some great water textures and the contrasting for the primary subject works quite well.

Apart from the water itself I especially admire the way you've created interest in the rocks and woods to the sides while keeping them from distracting.
