p.1 #1 · 1Ds SD card question

I just got a 1Ds Mk III and I am thinking of my options for cards etc. I shoot weddings and I do a slide show at the reception of jpgs from the day. I am wondering if the eye-fi card would work to send jpgs to a computer in real time so that there is no down time with downloading cards.
Has anyone used an eye-fi card in a 1Ds camera? does it work? well?

No, but a search will find numerous evidence that it is quite slow at best. It's designed for small jpegs from P/S cameras.

Well, if that's so then shoot raw + small J, and then the J is about the size of a P&S JPG, which is perfectly sufficient for a slide show.

It works ... but very, very, very slowly. The Eye-Fi wasn't designed for large files like 1Ds III files. It doesn't even do well with G7 files! I got one as a gift and ended up using it simply as a card, with no wi-fi.

I would be using the eye-fi for small jpgs nothing bigger. Does any one have any idea of the operating range or speed per file? I would assume they would be 2-3MB? if that?

Did you ask about it in their forums?
