With the Nikon 35mm f/1.8, even I can get decent people shots These are right from the camera, not even sharpened. Very impressive lens for the price.

Hello Patrick!

I know you have been here a loooooooonnnnnnng Time.....

But...this is an important step you took...Posting the pics.

Good ones too.

I like the closeness of them both, the 'casual" setting of the grass, and the expressions on the children show INTEREST in the person behind the camera...that is engagement!

Well done.

My favorite of the two is the girl, because of the pose, and the expression. She sure looks cute in that photo. I am sure it will make her mother happy. If I were her parent, that is one I would want on my desk at work, just to give me a smile every day!

Keep up the good work, and don't give credit to the lens, YOU deserve all the credit!

Steady

Thanks Steady, appreciate the feedback. Funny you mention about having the first shot on the desk. My wife immediately wanted a copy of that one for her laptop wallpaper!

For me, the one of my son was a very memorable shot as he's very tough to photograph. I have to catch him candidly as he's very aware of the camera and closes his eyes, gets shy, etc. My daughter OTOH (in the first pic) is so photogenic. She hams it up beautifully every time Dad gets the camera out.

Thanks again for the comments.
