p.1 #1 · Going Small

Lots of "Small Landscapes" these days, thought I'd add a few recent shots to the mix...
Your thoughtful comments are appreciated....

Zeph, I like #2 the best colored rocks always catch my eyes, I like the comp., balanced well. Where was that, not Rialto. #3 is so Wash. cascades, got a lot like that, and I am never tired of looking for and at them. Nice set of comps and colors. Rick

It took me a second look to realize that #2 the stones are under water. They are under water right?

The second was St. Mary Lake, along the eastern shore near the highway. There is a quarter mile of these rocks along the shore, all neatly sorted by the constant wave action. The third resembles the northern Cascades, but this was shot near Wilcox Pass in Alberta.
I'm also a "kid in a candy store" when it comes to little chunks of geology...

Evan,
I was wondering if the submerged view point would catch the attention here... These gems are under about 6" of water.

I was looking at those rocks thinking it was certainly a neat comp with no clue they were under water at all until I got down to this comment.

Good eye on that shot.

I like the first the most. The light is wonderful and makes the colours of the rocks and lichen sing.

Delightful set, Zeph. Really enjoyed the microcosmic study in the last.
I thought the 2nd was through water. There's an amazing range of colors in the stones. I wonder if it could handle a little more contrast?

I like such details, Zeph. My favourite is #1, lovely brown tone.

Zeph

Very nice microscapes, really like the nice degree on contrast in all 3 images, really hard to pick a favorite here but #2 and 3 are gorgeous

I really dig #2. Or is it B? That's a neat picture. Makes me wonder what I have at the ranch...

Oy!.....I didn't pick up on the water at all. It's amazing how un-observant I can be at times.

That one is THE one in this bunch for me.......though it seems just a hair bright.
