We were priviledged to shoot the engagement session of Krista and Chris in Key Biscayne during our recent trip to South Florida. Chris had popped the question just three weeks before the session and they were one of the most energetic couples we have ever worked with.
My old stomping grounds. Love it there! That place use to be really cool before hurricane Andrew. Glad to see it is coming back. How did you get access to the lighthouse?
the rest are good, but hold off on the fake TS-E...and ease up on the sharpen. images look as though they shot with a very low res. camera. are you adding grain to the images in post?
anyway good set and and i am sure they'll love them.
LOVE these. Love the mood of them. Watch your PP consistency - for instance, from 7 to 8. Something I've been working hard on. Love the variety. 13 is super neat! They will love them.
I love how they seem very comfortable being photographed.
Great images. Some of my favourite photographers have images that look like they
were rubbed with fine grain sand, and I wondered how they do that.
At first I thought it could just be uber micro-sharpening, then I thought it could be
grain, but not sure. Anyway, my advice is sharpen, then add the grain,
because sharpening grain is never a good idea.
I prefer #3 over #4. Don't like the line through his head in #2. Don't mind it in the others though - as it draws some attention to the setting, which is nice. Others are very nice.
Thanks for all of your feedback! The shots that I posted were the couple's selection for a small guestbook. Personally we probably would have leaned toward the natural versions of each.... and in hindsight, those are probably what I should have posted for review.
It was just fantastic to have a couple that was so natural in front of the camera. Could have shot them all day long. Especially in a location like that.
That tilt-shift effect is terrible. I think you're doing it all wrong in post.
A lot of them look kinda flat to me and washed out. Also, on #6 that guy has massive hands! I'm guessing you were beneath them with a zoom that causes that distortion. It's a nitpicky thing but a pet peeve of mine when people get ginormous hands.
basically, I think they're ok but it's not really my style.
Actually.... now that you mention it, #6 was obviously effected by the UWA lens, but he appears to have very large hands in comparison to her. ie. #11 and #19
