This is more of a question rather than a "insider sneak peak"...
I'm just wondering with the debut of the 7D whether or not Canon will bring out a 60D soon, seen that the 50D is quite old now, about year and a half. What is the big thing now is of course the HD video. Now the lower end SLR cameras already have that capability... Is it likely that Canon will bring out a new revised 50D/60D with that capability any time soon?
Yes, IMO the 50D will be updated, with a camera of the same price point. It's too important a segment to let go and the 500D -> 7D jump is too much and most people don;t need the 7D's features. 60D will be 50D + video and some 7D features, but not the AF, lesser video options, single digic, 6fps, may keep the 15MP sensor. If it were a Nikon it'll probably be a 50Ds

I wouldn't count on a 60D too soon. Probably mid-to-late 2010 at the earliest, thanks to market conditions
That's what they said earlier this year and we were told not to expect much in the way of new cameras. So far we've had 500D, 7D, 1D IV so I'd expect 60D early next year around PMA, even though Canon won't be attending.
