Curious here, myself. I thought about getting a Katz Eye Screen for my D700, but decided to put it off until they start producing these models with their Optibrite treatment.
I have a Katz Eye screen on my D700 that was installed by Katz Eye. To be honest with you, I don't see that much of an improvement over the standard screen. I also have a D3 and find it easier to manually focus than my D700 with Katz Eye.
Thanks for the info. I didn't like the original screen on d200 but most users seem to be satisfied with stock screen on d700. I guess I will stick with original one for now.
i wouldn't be too pushed about the optibrite, i have one on my d200 and its low contrast makes focusing a bit tricky. if i was buying again i'd get a standard one.
Had a Katz on a D200 for awhile, I didn't care for it. I'm using MF lenses quite a bit now on my D3/D700/D300
the viewfinders are so bright (fast glass doesn't hurt) these 60+ yr old eyes (no glasses) have no problems lockin' focus.
I almost never look for the "green dot" anymore...I know it's lit solid.
I was interested until I found out that the screen for the D700 does not include a micro prism. The little wedge rangefinder is not that useful for me anyway.
