p.2 #1 · The future ...

Do you guys think we will ever see a feature where instead of "snapping" photos, you will basically run your camera in a video-like mode, and then in post you can just grab the exact frame you want as your photo?

They will probably have this option at some point. I hope it never happens though. Digital photography makes it a heck of a lot easier to take decent photos than film photography. If the feature of taking high res stills from video is added, that invalidates one of the most important skills necessary for being a photographer, timing. Pretty soon, it will be so easy to take "photos" that it will become even more difficult to earn a living as a photographer. People will simply do what some lazy sports photographers do these days, spray and pray.

I thought the 1N RS, 1V HS and 1D series was developed specifically for this purpose.

Before the general public can take good photos at sport events, we would have to be allowed to bring in cameras other than point and shoot.

When I get to the moon I would need my 64,000,000,000mm f/2 L "IS" lens to take a shot at flying ducks on earth.

I'll be taking some cats and a 85 f/1.2 to take the customary "bored cat's eyes" photo

In 15 years, we won't go anyplace outside of our living quarters. All trips will be through Virtual Reality, to simulated environments that are far "better" than reality.

Canon will provide VR* hardware and software.

*not vibration reduction! Nikon will build exercise facilities and simulations of same.

I didnt get it.....and still dont get it.

Dont know whats in the future. Hope MP wall is met soon.

I would like a 1 Series that is light, maybe carbon fiber body....why not. A ferrari works well that way.

I'd also like a good zoom. A 24-400 f2.8 or f4 comes to mind that isnt $5000. By good I mean, IQ thats as good as a tele prime

I get sick of carrying all ther weight of my current 1 series, plus a couple 2.8 zooms and others. One good lens for wide and long would be nice with a light body. I bet i'd be more apt to go out a shoot more often than I do now.

But, I wont hold my breath.

As for moon, Hassy had a turn, then NASA got stiffed by Nikon. Nikon unloaded a ton(76 total) D2X's like the day before the D3 came out. Heres the link. So it looks like NASA doesnt trust Canon....but I'd be pissed at Nikon too
