p.1 #1 · How much time do you spend on e-session?

I know different people have different approaches to this and I am curious how much time do you normally spend doing an engagement session?

For me it depends on the situation... if we're being productive and having fun, it's usually a bit longer. The norm is probably 2hrs shooting, about the same for editing.

1.5 to 2 hours depending on how many and how far between location changes. Anything past that most couples begin to get a little tired with it.

I'd say around 2 hours as well. It's always been just the right amount of time to get plenty of shots in several locations for me

Cheers.

+1, though my images suck compared to Ed's. LR for the win, I hardly ever use Photoshop anymore.

Depends on the couple and the location. Sometimes I am super inspired and my clients are making the shoot so much fun so we go for 2+ hours, sometimes the client just wants basic portraits in one place so the shoot takes about an hour.

2 hours is pretty normal I think. More than that and the couple gets sick of taking pictures.

I move in with the couple, and let them become adjusted to my habits. After 3 or 4 weeks of living with them, they generally begin to ignore me, and the camera. It is after this time that I can capture true interaction and emotion.
