this is stunningly awesome Barry! The lighting, composition, and everything is just perfect. What a great opportunity you have here. Please keep us posted on their progress. I am a bobcat junkie.
Thanks Thang! I've immensely enjoyed your shots of the bobcats at SJWS. I was able to get down there on a weekday in July and was lucky enough to find the mother and her kitten. Unfortunately the light was a bit harsh, but I'm not complaining!

Barry - these were taken not too long after we first saw the new family in June. You're truly a master at tracking these bobcats as I wasn't able to find them again until months later. The kitten at SJWS is about the size of yours now.

Thanks! I knew the odds of finding them in an unfamiliar place (I've only been there twice) were incredibly low. I had just about given up searching when I finally spotted them.
The bobcat family near me pulled the same disappearing act. I had one good glimpse of the mother and kittens in late June and then didn't see the kittens for another two months.
What a treasure set of images, really a beautiful animal to observe. Yes #6 is a cool image but I also like #1 and #3 and watching the video was real treat, that looked great Thanks for sharing these.

Fantastic--that first shot is really nice. The video? Wow.
I was quail hunting in Az when I was a kid and as a covey flushed I saw a bobcat pop a solid six feet into the air and take one right out of the sky. That's a mental video/picture I'll never forget. They're amazing creatures and you got some great captures. Congrats!!

Thanks!! Speaking of them jumping, check out the thread I just posted. The female kitten was batting a dead rodent around and practicing tossing it in the air and catching it.
