This macro doesn't have an adjustable DoF so it's quite a battle to manage decent shots, but I thought these turned out alright.

That is a cool shot of the stinger!! Is it true that if the size of the stinger is small and the pincers big, that means they're not as venomous as the ones with big stinger and small pincers?

The eyes remind me of the Harvestman. The link between spiders and scorpion?

I would say this really doesn't hold true at all. Yes, with Pandinus, Heterometrus, Hadogenes, and many of the Buthids it does work. But many it doesn't work for. Like this one here- it supposedly (though I've never experienced) is the most toxic scorpion on Earth. It does not have large pincers but it also doesn't have the tiny pincers like, say Androcotonus bicolor does. It also has a smaller slender tail/telson, not a big tail at all. More dangerous species defy this rule than do non-dangerous ones so on that fact I think this rule should be abandoned. And even if you get stung by a supposedly large harmless scorpion, if you happened to be allergic you may be in a world of hurt anyway regardless of the pure potency of the venom.

Lovely captures- esp like #2
Not sure re the question - just glad the only scorpion like bugs I get in the garden are pseudoscorpions- just 2mm long and no stinging tail

That just looks sooo menacing!
Great capture. . . . I'm actually going hunting for a local version of black scorpion, hopefully, this weekend. . . . hehehe
