We just had the first Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix weekend, followed up by an Aerosmith concert after the racing. Last race of the season, and my first attempt at shooting F1 cars at 195mph from close range! I shoot at whatever the conditions allow. In bright sunlight i like to get 1/800 at f/4 (I rarely shoot at f/2.8 even though the lenses I use support it) or about 1/600 at night. I always shoot aperture priority and then change my auto-iso settings to be where I need them to get the shutter speeds I want. that way I get the shutter speed and aperture that I want and the ISO moves depending on the light in that specific area. If your camera has good hi-iso performance then Auto-ISO can be extremely useful for sports in my opinion. Nov 05, 2009 at 02:52 AM
