p.1 #1 · Solux lighting alternatives for print display

I saw a photo exhibit lighted with Solux lights, and it was very nice. These were the swing arm fixtures that mounted to the top of the frames, so the light was fairly close to the glass.

But the light fixtures are pretty expensive. Can anyone suggest a cheaper alternative to Solux? Thanks.

Call and talk to Phil at Solux. He's happy to discuss fixtures that will work with the Solux bulbs.

As far as frame-mounted fixtures go, though, the Solux fixtures really aren't out of line with what's on the market. If track lighting will work, it's definitely possible to put together an economical solution that way (and the Solux track heads are both competitive and fairly inexpensive), but I don't know what your goals or lighting situation are.

I have Solux. Their color corrected globes are the heart of their system. These globes will fit into most any, inexpensive, low voltage system and cost less than $10 each.

I use a "Halo" type 120VAC track strip and transformer sepdown globe heads. Solux sells these heads (and so do many others) inexpensively. This will be the cheapest way to light your prints (or any area) with color corrected light.
