So, here's the story.
I have had a D200 for 2 years and a D3 for just over a year. always use sandisk cards. I have 2-2gig cards, 3-4gig cards and 1-8 gig card. Always been able to just plug into my card reader and and into ANY usb slot weather my laptop or someone else's PC or Mac and retrieve the images using MS explorer and seeing the folder labeled by the camera, both RAW and jpeg.
The other day I picked up a new 8 gig card at costco, put it in the D3, formatted it and went and shot some soccer.
After I got home and put it in my reader it shows up as a removable drive, just like a CD, same icon, but when I click on it it says insert disk. OK, we know that's wrong. but it does it on both my computers at home.
So I put it in the camera and USB access it that way.
The Camera icon shows up labeled D3, but explorer wont do anything with it. after some clicking around I get a MS camera transfer program to transfer the jpegs but not the RAW files. wont let me even see them, just asks if I want to transfer the pictures.
So my question, is there anything else I should try?
I am very computer savvy, just NEVER ran into something like this before.
