p.1 #1 · Dolphin Beach

Hi

I found this while walking the dogs this afternoon - nice to be back on the beach ...

Thanks for any comments

Cheers

Very good. You used the rocks well as leading lines and the 'explosive' sky is marvellous.

Thanks Ute

I was pleasantly surprised how this turned out for a snap shot - I'm slowly getting the hang of using RAW files and layer blending - lots to learn - good fun too

Cheers

Nice comp. with the wide angle use and interesting clouds/soft light. I'm pretty sure it would work nicely in B&W as well.

Excellent. Agree totally with Ute. Fine lighting, too.

Also have to agree with Ute - nice visual trail to yank us into the scene and the clouds are a neat topping to the mix.

That's a beauty. Rich color, exploding clouds, beautiful light, and above all great comp.

Ute's description of an 'explosive' sky is spot on. Excellent shot!

I think it would have been even better to focus more on the sky or the rocks as a subject, and so make the horizon lower or higher respectively. You've certainly got the DOF to do it.

For me that explosive sky does not work so well because the main area of attraction has little detail in it.

Thanks everyone very much

Alan, that was my concern, briefly - too 50/50

I took many variations - different rocks/ratios etc - but this was the only one that jumped out at me on the computer, so I went with it and broke the 2/3 rule this time

Milan, I might try a B/W - thanks for the suggestion

Cheers

Well, that rule is certainly made to be broken whenever breaking it works for the photographer !
