p.1 #1 · Fine art matte and framing

Is the standard for fine art to leave the necessary border on the printing medium, or to use the whole paper and use a mounting board/matte for the border?

When printing on hahnemule museum etching, a nice border comes at a very high price...

All input appreciated

I leave a small border so that I can mat the picture without losing any image. If you are framing behind glass, you need the mat to separate the print from the glass.
