p.1 #1 · BW Protrait Image Enhancement

Hi Folks,

I am a long time novice reader of these forums.

Unfortunatly we have had a death in the family and i have a old photo, in ok conditon that needs some touching up before use.

I have a link to a small copy of the photo and are after someone who could make a good job of tweaking it. (Edit: Sorry havent scanned yet, but will soon. Its a BW portrait thats gone slightly sepia'ish)

I am more than happy to pay a small fee. If you think you can help me or email me. Or if you can reccomend anyone.

TIA

-Al

I was doing a restoration based on your TIFF file, but the blacks in the uniform are all set to 0 and contain no information. So there is no detail in the uniform. Clearly your sample image above has detail in the uniform. Did you set your black point above 0 before you created the TIFF file? If so, please post a second TIFF with the black/shadow/uniform detail still in place.

Here is the problem I am having.

I do have a full size version of this file, but much is lost with the blacks being damaged in so much of the image.

Yeah, contrast set too high on the scan.
My re-work above from the posted image above.

Looking at the low-res on screen, why would you want to change that beautiful image? Sorry to hear about your loss. I agree with the statement about the scan. It has lost an incredible amount of detail
