p.1 #1 · Birds with the 7D/500 f4 (8x)

I was one of the first in line at Amazon.com to get the Canon 7D but have only recently had time to take it out for a spin. These shots are with the 7D/500 f4 mounted on a BushHawk. Converted from RAW to JPEG in DPP, then slightly adjusted in Paint Shop Pro X2.

Woweee Steve, first time out with that body and you get these results, impressive! Very cool on that Killdeer IF, really a pretty display and good shot by you. Startling detail on the Green Winged Teal, patterning is wonderful Steve. Nutmeg looks strong too, super looking eye and great contact too.

It's all good buddy, nice rig for reach and detail and crop and .....etc

Congrats on the new gear Steve... it's quite obviously in very capable hands.
Very productive "spin"... these are some fine images.
My favorites are the Nutmeg Mannikin, the Hummer, and the IF Killdeer is fantastic and one of the very best I've seen.
Well done.

This is a great set Steve,

very well done with the new toy. Looks like you had better weather this day than the day we met up with Stephen & Johnny.

Well done Steve - still hoping Destined will get well enough for me to go out on Sunday.

# 1, 2, 3, & 8 are my favorites. I got to catch myself one of those Nutmegs....

Nice!

Reminds me of the first time I shot a Mannikin in OC. Couldn't find it in my bird guide and had convinced myself I'd found a new species. Named it the Speckled Bravolicius.

I was disappointed to learn of it's previous discovery. My quest continues.

Some beauties, Steve. The hummer, deerkill and the cleanly perched nutmeg are standouts in this series.

Nice job on the first outing. The teal is fabulous. You and I must be the only ones around who use PSP.

meant to ask, how do you like the bushhawk? I'm seriously thinking of getting the 7D for a back up of my MKIII which has 250000 shutter releases on it. I'd love the video. One pound off the weight I carry too.
