I say game(s) as it was really two separate contests. The Wolverines controlled the Illini for the first half, going into the locker room with a 13-7 lead.
On the first series of downs after halftime, Michigan appeared to have scored a TD on a 70 yard Tate Forcier pass, which would have put them up 20-7. But "upon further review" the receiver was down at the one yard line. Illinois manned up and stopped 4 straight runs by Michigan, and took the ball over on downs on their own 2 foot line, then scampered down the field, capped by a 70 yard TD sprint, and didn't look back, scoring 21 unanswered 3rd quarter points and 10 more in the 4th on their way to a 38-13 shellacking of the Wolverines. It was the Illini's second win of the season and first in Big Ten play.
