The game was at noon under bright sunshine. I hate those conditions. The contrast/shadows just suck. (I really need to get my kids involved in other sports so I can shoot something different)
Great looking shots with lots of saturation and sharpness! I usually don't like looking at kid sports but I really liked these. When I accidentally have kids I am sure my feelings will change.
I have to laugh, "another day under bright sunshine". I don't know where you are from but in MI it has been overcast, cold and rainy for a week or more. Be careful what you say you hate.
There are no helmets or hats in Soccer, bright sun is not that much of a problem.
Exposure compensation or shadow/highlight in PS can relieve extreme sun problems--but soon, we'll be shooting in dim basketball caverns and marking time until the harsh burning rays return.

I don't mind the bright if it's a morning game or late afternoon. It's midday harsh shadows I did like.

agreed. I'll be lamenting the bad gym lighting soon.
I process in ACR using a combination of Fill, low contrast and other corrections to make the images look better.
