Seems to me like there is a constant arms race with this sort of thing. What is "cool" and "cutting edge" right now is going to be dated and frowned upon in two years it seems. Stay in one place for too long and you're left behind.
OR... you could just get SlideShowPro yourself instead of paying LiveBooks or anyone else to customize it for you. It's not that hard to build a custom site around it.
I'm currently using one of the templates of portfoliositez.com and I've been using them for almost over 6 months now and I love it. Very affordable and great features. LB is just too much for me. BD is great but not the technical support. Below is my photography website and an Andy 1.0 template from PS:
Just say no to LiveBooks. Over-priced, back end isn't very good and all their "design" services do is essentially skin the site with your colors. If you've ever worked with a real web designer, you'll quickly realize that there's no real design work involved in what you pay for.
I agree with Jeff, LB is way over-priced. I've tried flashpallete.com before and it was okay. The admin backend interface is local and very easy to use, but the design was too simple for my taste. Though, others would definitely love it. On the other hand, Portfoliositez.com blogsites are awesome. I have an Andy 1.0 template http://www.santibabaran.com . More designs and new features are coming before the end of the year. For the record, I have no ties with them in any way. I just love their blogsite templates and their support service so much, hence, I'm spreading the word. So go check them out...
I forgot to mention, blogsite templates have galleries, proofing page, and mini site for clients as well.
I just switched from Blu to Livebooks, and couldn't be happier. Livebooks site isn't live yet, but I love the look of it, from what I've heard, the SEO is amazing. Bludomain wouldn't return my calls or e-mails, overall CS was horrible.
