always wanted this lens, i wonder how it compares to 85L (canon)

I have both, I am sure others do too. it does great vs. 85 1.2L. different lenses of course but it's sharp wide open generally, like the 85/1.2

the 58 is the 50L that canon *should* have made.

I have the EOS 85L. The Rokkor holds it´s own. It is a lot smaller and lighter though.

Couple shots of same flower at two apertures, one wide open and the other at f/5.6. From dreamy to hyper-sharp. These may have had 12mm extension...I can't recall.

Reflection was f/4.

rokkor serves sometimes as a wildlife lens - recent shot from ZOO
at f1.2 aperture, background is isolated pretty well (much more than it showed in viewfinder)
