You guys are really spending $15-30 on each CD case? I've gone through about 150 cases just this year and can't imagine having spent $2200 - $5000 on CD cases.

Yeah, I can't bring myself to spend $30 on a disk case either. The ones listed are very nice though.

I use the tin cases with a plastic window. These go for about $1.50 each.

For the budget-minded. try here. Pretty basic, nothing elegant, but they work.

I use a regular DVD case with a nice looking photo insert and lightscribe for my engagement, portrait and boudoir sessions. For the wedding cd I do spring for a case that is like $20. I offer the high res digital negatives as a product and definitely charge accordingly for it. My package prices are a bit higher than most. I like to make sure it feels like a digital album. I use a folding cream colored leather two disc holder with a place to add a photo into the front. Looks like this...

+1. Clients love them. You can buy them in bulk to save some dough.

I use the normal paper style CD sleeves with my logo on it. I've considered getting nicer DVD cases, but I'm also of the mindset that spending $10+ on a CD case is nuts.

Maybe for a slideshow that they pay a lot of money for, but that's about it.

i've designed a custom uncoated double dvd 3 fold digipak with foil blocking and screen printed cd/dvd, and presentation folders. Cost me a couple of grand UK for 1000. Pisses all over my photogrostalkers.

Do any of the sites above create your own design, like putting on your own branding?

American Digital

Get a cd/dvd you can print on, make a nice photo and the brides see it through the case.
Looks really swell when it's all put together, at $126 when you purchase 100

I agree! No need to lay out that kind of loot for a decent CD case...

That's what I use, except I get the full DVD style case. 2 BIG reasons.

1. Most cases you buy stuff in these days (movies, games, etc) come in a DVD style case.

2. The largest size has a small slit cut into the blue plastic at the top of the case. I am able to print my print release, and slip it behind the blue DVD case easily. I include a couple of business cards. This way the bride and groom don't have to fumble for it or lose it when they want to make prints elsewhere if needed.

These come out to be less than $10 a case and are only used for weddings. So, at 30 weddings a year, it's less than $300 dollars. I've spent $300 in a year more foolishly before.

Those look pretty sweet with your logo Saad - I was thinking about getting those but opted for my CD Sleeves because I don't think my logo would come out as nice (it's all text) imprinted like that. It -could- be slick, maybe... not sure though. I've got at least 6 months before I have to worry about delivering a nicer looking CD case than what I've got for a wedding anyways, though, since most don't opt for the CD w/ re-print rights.

The tin cases are really cool looking. If you don't mind my asking, where are you getting those?

I'm using the metal ones also as they are really cheap but still unsure if they also look cheap for the client !
I've had my eyes on some cardboard ones, really cool but not available online ! In a shop in bluewater for the UK guys, can't remember the name though (cool stationery shop).
