p.1 #1 · Wheeled Stand for boom

I'm currently using a C-stand for my D600 boom in studio. I'm looking for a wheeled stand to use with the D600. I will be mainly using this for a 5' Octabox or beauty dish. This is what I found that might work:

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Get the Avenger! I just rented this exact setup last weekend to try it out, and I loved it. Rock-solid, easy to use stand. Perfect with the D600 boom.

The MSE is the better stand. Jr vs baby, triple vs double riser, better leg spread (more stability, less sandbagging needed), better lowest height, etc. The cool thing about the Jr receiver size is that most C-stand risers fit right into it. I put a P&S 35 feet high one time with an Avenger A320 and a 40'' c-stand riser + grip arm one time. :-) And yes, I had about 120lbs of sandbags on it.

Do you mean if if I have a bunch of C-stands, they will fit onto the wheeled base? If so, do they just sell the wheeled base?

I'm not sure how removable that MSE's base is, but you can definitely plug in the riser from a MSE or Avenger turtle-base c-stand right into the top Jr receiver if you ever wanted to go real high.

If you just want the base, you can snag this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/302163-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_297BBASE_297B_Wheeled_Base_for.html#specifications

Then you can use your 20'', 40'', or 60'' c-stand risers on it.

The MSE Baby Jr (H386020) has a baby pin only - which suits the D600.

I'll probably end up with the MSE.

Good choice. The MSE has all-steel construction, and a nice wheel set. I have the D650 (big brother of D600) and matching MSE stand with junior receiver. While very heavy, the rig is easily moved, and the wheels lock securely.

Och, you're absolutely right. Didn't look through B&H's specs. The photo and the weight are wrong. Here's the one I was thinking about: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/33097-REG/Matthews_H386033_Junior_Steel_Wheeled_Stand.html

Very nice! I have the Low Boy from that series, and feel confident with heavy loads on top.

can't you just put wheels on your current stand?
