Note that although the maximum aperture of the following lenses or combinations is f/4, cross-type focusing with 39 AF points is now possible with these lenses:
EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM + Extender EF1.4x II
EF 200mm f/2L IS USM + Extender EF2x II
EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM + Extender EF1.4x II
EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM + Extender EF1.4x II
Canon USA just posted a $4999 price. For me that 6mp increase in sensor isn't worth a grand. The AF is nice but for my purposes the 1D3 works fine. Video isn't worth a dime to me personally.
It all sounds great, but I just finished a quick scan of a rumor thread that suggested a full frame body with APS-H crop mode for full fps. That sounded even better than what turns out to be reality. No surprise there, I guess.
The custom function that moves the selected focusing point when the camera orientation is changed V>H might be enough to make me not miss the system of the Mk II (two back button AF each with a different selected point).
