First thought was WOW! Next image... WOW! Next image... WOW! You get the idea.
Congratulations Zm!
Everything certainly came together for this sequence and you captured it perfectly Ken.
Masterful work... and yes... this ones going to be hard to beat this season +1
Awesome series Ken with many of these images suitable as wall hangers.
Kirk
Many thanks, Captain Kirk It was a real delight to be able to capture this as a whole sequence as opposed to a couple of one off shots. My only hope is that I get many more opportunities like this again in the future.
Glad you enjoyed and no waiting for your entry into out presegious club
The term 'awesome' shouldn't be thrown around lightly, but it sure fits your series. Wow! It must have been totally exhilarating to find that you'd succeeded with getting quality shots of the entire sequence.

Wow - what an amazing series. I can see why it's called the holy grail! Especially when captured like this.
Thank you, Richard. This and Eagles snatching fish from the water are some of the most sought after opportunities that wildlife photograhers can hope for. In search of the Holy Grail if you will. I'd love to get a shot of a mountain lion taking down a deer some day but this will have to do for now

Well Ken, it's all been said and all deserved. This is an amazing series of high tech work and the best part is it made me think of the bird and its tremendous abilities. Until studying these images I hadn't really considered how much power it must take for a large wet bird to fly out of the "hole", as you say, and with large prey in its talons. Also it's a good thing they have small brains. Me, I'd be thinking during the dive, what if there's a rock under water and I drive my beak into that?
Enjoyed these images, a lot.

Hi Wayne.
I've been fortunate to have witnessed Osprey fishing like this several times and it never ceases to amaze me that they go complete submersed in the water and drag a fish out that weighs nearly as much as they do. Those talons are something that must be seen to be appreciated, also.

Ken this series is one of the best--Holy Grail or not. Great images with losts of action and crisp detail and colors.
Very cool! I'll bet the low res files don't do these justice! Stunning!
Thank you, Bonnie. These were mostly cropped for composition only so there was plenty of resolution left over. If I had a studio this might make a good panel display on a wall somewhere.

Alan,
As mentioned somewhere else in this overly lengthy post I got pretty lucky in that this all happened right in front of me, at the right time of day for the light and shooting with a long lens I was able to get great comps on this. Thanks for taking the time to view and comment!
WHAT A SERIES! 7 is an accomplishment in itself, and 9 is just plain OUT of this World! The fact that you captured every photo in the sequence in such stunning detail is Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
There are time when it really pays to be shooting with a pro body and this was one of those times. I actually omitte some images from this series to keep it a reasonable size for this post.
Glad you enjoyed them and thank you very much to the look and the comments!

This is a HILARIOUS variation on the Holy Grail theme -- loved it!!!!!!!! That was one dunked bird. Kudos on the series - wow!
Hilarious indeed, Susanna That poor burd was one wet hen and I'm surpirsed it could fly let alone lift off with all that carp. Determination and persistance got it a meal but who knows at what price.

Every frame way over the top and #10 I'm speechless
Tom (just returned from vacation to find the mobo on my processing machine DOA )
I was what? I don't understand. You're not speechless cause you just said a lot. If your motherboard is fried how are you communicating with us? So many questions and, shoot, thanks
