Hello,

For some reason, whenever i press the shutter button nothing happens. like it's stuck or something.

Is it something I can try to clean or fix myself or does it have to be sent in?

Hi BlurryLense2k. Welcome to FM. We'll need to know more before we can help much. For example, do you have fully charged batteries, does the top LCD show anything when you turn it on, does the back LCD show anything when you push the Menu button?

this happened to my friend's 30D. canon fixed it free of charge - the shutter button seems to act up on these.

Hi,

The focus confirmation light inside the viewfinder blinks. That's about it.
Eventually, after some time, it starts taking pictures again.

This is a "classical" problem with the XXD cameras... I think it is the contact below the shutter button that needs to be replaced. Just send it in and let Canon fix it. Happened to me about a year ago, I let them clean the camera and sensor at the same time, the camera came back good as new...
