To me, these images feel nothing more than what someone could do with a P&S. They look like typical Facebook images.

What was your intent when taking these two photos? What did you have in mind just before taking the shots?

Well, let me give it a whirl.
1. Subject matter: Well, what can I say? Dont see many superhero conventions anymore. I'm guessing a pro was shooting and you were put off to the side to shoot. Image would be better shot closer to their eye level, looking at the camera. You would probably have to be on a stepladder or with a stool, tripod or special shooting platform.
2. Well-centered with eye and glass-contact. Image would be better with less reflections off her face, his glasses. Less distraction if no one was standing, partially obscured, behind her. Overall, seems overly bright.
