the S would imply an inproved version of the D3. Same basic camera with some featurs added and others improved. That's all. The D3x is a totally different camera.
Nikon hasn't done the xs combo, guess canon covered that already. I really would like to see someone come up with something like 3000SUX. Really, nikon should be commemorating classic names like nikkormat, nikkorex, Nippon kogaku, etc., I keep thinking of the FE's, FA, FM's, nikon can certainly simplify names a little, Nikon DE, DA... Certainly lots of letters left...

D2Xs? Every camera manufacturer has produced at least one camera that deserves the SUX identifier.
