Maybe it's a 10 mpx camera with 1/2000 flash sync (like the G11). j/k.
I don't think this is the famed 3D we are hoping for with 45 pt focus etc... I'm sure it's a lowly 5D with the AF system of the **D series and a full-frame sensor that is <21 mpx.

Not one to start rumors but this looks real
Full frame with pop-up flash and video? I'm IN!!
Might be a 1.3 crop sensor or 16mp full frame sensor in the camera, which with the pop up flash and video would put a 7D camera directly in the middle of the 50D and 5DMk2 cameras in relation to features and price.
Would I be interested? Probably Not, especially if it is crop sensor, but might be interested in the camera for a backup of my 1Ds3 if it is full frame.
I don't mind having a Pop Up flash unless it makes the prisim housing the size of the old Nikon F Photomic prisim, it does come in useful for fill flash sometimes. As for Video, I would most likely never use it so could care less if it is included on this camera, would prefer it being left off and drop the price on the camera by a few hundred dollars.
If the rumors state that the 7D will sell for $1999, I don't get it . . . thats a $600 difference from a 5D. What features are they going to remove? 5D2 is very full of features to take out. Unless they just remove the video factor and then improve AF, I'll be a happy camper.

There is definitely video (judging by the mike).
They will take out megapixels I bet........ If they make it 15 mpx, that's $100 premium for each pixel to the 5dMKII
Image holds together even under extreme levels and curves adjustments, seems like there genuinely is a body out there with a '7D' badge on it.....interesting stuff!

The ability of the D700 to use the on-body flash as a slave trigger is one of the many really valuable things that put that camera in a different league than the 5D.
Have you ever tried to use the on-board Commander Mode on a Nikon camera? I owned two D300s and found this feature dramatically increased subject eye-blink, to the point that I just couldn't use it for photographing people. A 5D with an ST-E2 is more discreet and you gain a very useful focus assist. (Nikon has a similar trigger unit).
I bought the 5D2, incidentally, after seriously evaluating the D700. I found the 5D2 was just in a different league...
If it's full-frame, what's the point of releasing this camera unless to attack SoNikon where it hurts? Low body price and lots of EF lens sales.
Why would you want a lower end camera? I understand the price aspect and we all know many of these are over priced, but this will be a step down from the 5d2 (which, sorry to say, I consider the low water mark). With inferior features compared to the 5 series it wouldn't be easier/better to use for work...
For a built in flash
I make no bones about it, a built in flash (for me) is like tits on a bull (I'm sure you have a similar expression in the UK).
I am copying a quote from canonrumors: This is from a Best Buy employee who got all the powershot announcements on target.....so I'm thinking the 7D is for real. The big thing to notice is the price 2699 for body only - so not far off from the 5DMKII. Could it be less mpx but improved 45 pt AF system? ..... the other (not so good) sign is there is a bundle with the 28-135....... targeted to pro-sumer?
QUOTE:
“Hey, checked things out at work and the Best Buy inventory system has the 7D in it. The body is listed at $2699.99 with a UPC of 013803117493 and the canon model number of 3814B004. The kit with a EF 28-135, which seems strange to me is selling for $2899.99 and has a model of 3814B010 UPC of 013803117530. The price seems to match the lens compared to the body.
The G11 is also in the system selling for 599.99 and a model number of 3632B001 and UPC of 013803116458.
Interestingly looks like they are coming back with the S line again with the S90 IS. Retail is listed at $499.99, model is 3635B001 and a UPC of 013803116076….”
The same person sent the following a couple of days ago
“I was looking into the inventory system at Best Buy and saw two new products in the canon line up.The description for them is “Canon Powershot SX-A” and SX-B. The SX-A has a model number of 3633B001 and a upc of 0138031133662 and is selling for 399.99. The SX-B Black has a model number of 3634B001 with a UPC of 013803114201 and is selling for 249.99. That is all I can find out about them right now, hope that they make some sense to you.”
Any confirmation would be great, as would some “Mr Blurrycam” shots of the inventory screen (don’t get fired).
It's not going to happen. Assuming any of this is true, it is starting to look more and more like a 50D with video. I think adding a camera between the 5DII and the 50D is foolish. We would win, but not a good business move. I would much prefer a blend of the 5DII, 1DIII, and 1DsIII. Put them in a food processor, then "bam", perfect camera at $3499. I'm not sure that will happen either. It would be hard to create a Full Frame Rebel-like camera with a price point above the 50D. So I'm back to thinking the 5DII is the best mix for me. Isn't if funny how we each think our dream camera is reasonable, yet they're so different?

The 1Ds3 is like $300 per megapixel more than the 1D3
