No reasonable person would tell you tht your camera is bad. What people do say is that the body does have issues in general. If you are lucky enough to have a good one, great.
What people tell YOU and that is proven by many poll's on FM - no issues after blue dot version existed, and that is end of 2007. Some people having issues in general with everything, some keep reading RG, some just need new toy ...etc

I shall wait until Rob Galbraith and StanJ tell me the camera AF system is significantly better than 1DMkIIN's. And then I shall wait some more for additional feedback ....

My decision to buy or not buy will be based on a several things....
1. How well Canon convinces me that the AF is perfect (or damn close).
2. What incentives Canon offers for registered 1DMIII owners to upgrade.
3. The enhancements that Canon builds into the new body.
4. The feedback from the industry during the first 6 months it is on the market.

Couple people are reporting seeing a new pro Canon camera at a football game Friday night in NJ. Hmm...
And they couldn't take a picture of it?

I'd wait for RG's green light and then buy it. Specs are not important to me. The 1D Mk III's specs are more than enough for me. I handled one and it was like a dream come true.
The only thing I'd really like to be changed is an addition of another joystick on the grip.

You DO understand why those polls were rather worthless, don't you? If not, you need to go back and review the details of the issue.
Wait, I'm actually posting this in Poll thread?
Again - I don't have any issue, what should I review and why? Same with lots of happy owners of 1D mk III or 1Ds mk III. Do you own one? Problems are always happened, sorry to one who got them first year of these bodies production, but I don't get any. Same would be with next 1D, I will wait about one year and get one fixed and polished by Canon.

Of course, two of them. One from 2007 and one from late 2008. I know there are people who tend to bash the camera who have never owned one, but I'm not one of those people.
Think about what causes the issue, then think about the polls, how people use the camera, and what lenses they use it with. Then you should understand.
Edit: I should clarify that. It was assuming people have been following this since the beginning, and have seen the samples posted by people saying their camera does not have the Servo issue. I can't bring myself to point out those posts though, I hate to single out people like that. I'd feel bad about it.

Again as many other happy owners of mk III I never had any single issue with my body which was made in April 2008. I really don't care about issues in RG reports since I believe to my eyes and shots I did myself - mk III is amazingly good on AF.

Some fellow came by the place where I play hand ball the other night and he was carrying a couple of cameras with EOS glass on them. He looked like he might have just been looking for sport to test on. One of the cameras was a 1 series, but the other one was inside a simple black box, which might have been made of wood. The lens was sticking out of the front of it. What was in the box? Why does someone wander round with a camera which has the lens mounted and is on a stand, yet is inside a box? Was he hiding something that was not for public view?
