This is probably a stupid question, but does the camera have the ability to set the aperture electronically to use f-stops other than 1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6 etc.? For instance I can you shoot at 2.2?
I'm guessing the answer is no since these were designed for the M cameras.

No M lens has any body/lens aperture coupling. Depending on the lens and how close together the aperture detents are you can often set in-between stops on the lens.
Any thoughts on what lens hood would be most appropriate with the 40mm Nokton used on an m43 camera? Presumably you could get a hood that better matched the 80mm-equivalent focal length, providing a bit more protection and minimizing flare.
I don't know of any other hood that'll fit the Nokton. I don't have a hood for it, since I'm after compact (though I've thought about it). The times I'm shooting with sun to the side that causes flare (easy to see on the LCD), I just use my hand.
This might be a typical newbie question, but... I also had a look at the reference list on http://www.four-thirds.org/en/products/matching/index.html but couldn't find the Nokton 1.4 40mm there. So is the AF working on the PEN with this lens ? Due to the fact that it's not in the list, I assume not.
The examples really look stunning, but without AF this might be not the best choice for 'take the PEN out of the pocket and shoot'. I will definitely wait for the Panasonic pancake to arrive, though the oldschool looking of the Nokton is fascinating.
Quick review here. Lens is unsharp wide open, fairly poor contrast, has crappy bokeh, but is somewhat charming in its own right. Manual focus is odd. There's no "ring" like on other lens, there's a "tab" - this can sometimes result in not being able to turn it if you're pressing on it from some angles. Can be a bit awkward to use on the GF1. Will use it throughout the weekend, but I'm not in love yet.
These have all been tweaked to various levels within Lightroom - mainly trying to add some contrast and sharpness. Unfortunately apertures are all over the place - most at f/1.4, but some go up to f/2.8 or so, iirc.
