Those who know me a bit better, understand how impressed I have been with the EF-S 60 f/2.8 from its very introduction. Probably one of the sharpest Canon lenses with a practically flawless performance either in the macro range or in the regular short telephoto mode.
We often have lust or love threads dedicated to the likes of 24L, 35L, 85L, 135L etc........yet, the small, light and relatively inexpensive EF-S 60 f/2.8 macro is often relegated to the plebeian consumer/newbie land of crop cameras.
That's too bad.
Lets us share some of our interesting images obtained with the wee mighty EF-S 60 f/2.8.
I shall start with three of my signature PIF shots, and then give three more variety shots. I've been staying away from flowers and bugs on purpose (for one, I can't shoot macro ), but you don't have to. I'd be also happy if we could collectively demonstrate that EF-S 60 f/2.8 is much more than a macro lens.
I still can't get past buying EF-S glass as tempting as this lens is. Now Tamron has a 60 f/2 macro, which would make it even more useful as a walk around lens if I were to get a crop lens.

^^^i'm confused. are you long-term renting this lens, then, or borrowing it from a fwend?
Abam, now I am at a loss as to what is causing the confusion.......your Hoch-English or Pixie's Aussie patois.
I have owned my EF-S 60 since it hit the shelves 4-5 years ago.
As far as Pixie is concerned, it would appear he can not quite decide to get the lens yet.

Well I'm looking for a shorter macro than my 150, but I might wait and see if they release a new hybrid IS macro first. But there was an EF-S 60 in mint condition going for $265 recently.
just about no longitudinal CA and thus none of that PF/purple or green OOF halo stuff
not much lateral CA
very precise AF
L-like build
very compact and light
AF is actually considerably fast so long as it does not get stuck near macro zone and then it can take forever and it can tend to hunt a lot in low light at closer distances (certainly the forced automatic stepping down of aperture doesn't help AF when you get close and into the macro zone)
I thought long and hard before listing my EF-S 60mm macro on B&S...it's crazy sharp. But I do very little macro photography, so the money can be better used elsewhere...
