I posted this on another board: can you insert Copyright information to the EXIF file from your camera on a D700, or any camera for that matter? I often see in the EXIF file attached to a photo "© by blah blah", but I can't find in my camera settings where to put that info in.

I believe that info is added in Bridge or Lightroom. When, or after, the photos are downloaded into the computer, that stuff is added to the camera info. I have never seen anything in the camera book that says I can add it in-camera.

In Bridge, you add the info in the Metadata panel... name, rank, serial number...

There is a copyright field in the IPTC data which is added by an outside program once you have downloaded the images.

You can also add a copyright statement automatically in camera using the Image Comment field in the EXIF. On the D300 (the D700 should be similar) go to Menu>Setup>Image Comment. Enter your message and turn on attach comment.

Yes, you can add it automatically on a D200,D300,D700 and more.....it's in the menu.....

For 400D, I used the software included in order to add the info, it cannot be done via menus.

You can change the owner name via the canon software (using firewire).
