Thom Hogan is tipping the D3000, the D300s and a D700x by Autumn (Fall to you lot )
Given Thom doesnt go hard with his predictions until two of sources confirm, we can all mark those three in at least

If that ever becomes true it will be....urrmm...well I don't know really, pretty useless? 60-95mm? Just get a 85mm and go one step back or half an inch forward.

and why would it be dx? the 35 dx works on fx too.
also the 80-400vr replacement is not a replacement in my opinion as it weighs 50% more.
There was a second post on Nikonrumors with more info. When you check that out, it starts to look a lot more fake.
For instance, on the D700x, the frame rate is 5fps and 6.5 with a grip. Somehow I doubt Nikon is going to allow the D700x to outperform the D3x in that - or any other - arena.
Also, notice on the D4 that the frame rate in DX mode is like 16Fps. I'm not even sure the mirror can move back and forth that quick (unless the mirror just goes up and stays there). That, and are they really going to release a D4x just a few months later?
Finally, some of the lenses look at bit, well odd to me. A 120 to 450? A 70-240? A60 to 95 F2 Dx?
It looks a lot more like a wish list / prediction list a nikon fanboi put together to me. Sure, there's some stuff that seems plausible, and I think it's those items that make people think this is the real deal. I really think it was a cleverly crafted wish list made to generate just this kind of attention.
The only things from that list that appeal are the AF-S Nikkor 400mm f/5.6G VR (which I wont be able to afford) and the Coolpix with DX sensor and built in VR (which will be too big for a compact)

All I want for christmas is that little 35 f/1.4 - with fast autofocus please...
Agreed! I've been saying that for a while. Good quiet AF and none of the CA and funky wide-open bokeh of the AI-S and I'll call my kit complete.
This type of stuff cracks me up. Certainly a nice way for NikonRumors to keep their traffic up though
