Just down the road from us in Tremezzo is the Villa Carlotta. It is a world famous botanical garden consisting of a stately villa built by the Marquis Clerici in the 18th. century and acres of gardens overlooking the Lake. Here are some isolated shots taken last week with the Zeiss 35-70. Unfortunately, I can't show you any of the interior of the villa because photography is not allowed inside.
A small fountain in front of the villa:
A portion of the front stairway:
Taken in a small shed that contained a collection of gardening tools:
Here are a few more with the 35-70: Vineyards in Valtellina. This is an area at the top of the lake near the Swiss border where the vineyards are planted on the sides of the mountains.
The foot path to the "Fracia" vineyards of the Nino Negro winery. (They also have a small restaurant in the middle of the vineyard.)
It is quite a hike straight up the mountain ... almost there.
The view from our table in the vineyard. The wine we were drinking was grown on those vines.
Just another view of the vineyards looking in the opposite direction.
