p.1 #1 · Orford Ness

Hi

I was out with cambridge Camera club, visiting locations in suffolk this weekend.
Here are a series form Orford Ness, a nature reserve but also a site of historical interest as it is a disused army base. Still unexploded shells in the shingle!
I was out in the bright sunshine , so it was definately a challenge but interesting to find locations that might work with the harshness of the light. Not the typical 'beautiful' landscape that I usually work on.

Nice set Jane, I like your conversions. If my eyes aren't deceiving me though aren't 2 & 4 the same.

I like the b&w treatment of these. The subject tends to lend itself to monocolor. Interesting place.

Looks like a fascinating place. I have bookmarked it for when I am in Suffolk for work later this month.
The BW conversions works very well here. 4 is my pick because of the lines and diagonal placement of the main elements.

Hey Jane
Nothing like a serious challenge to bring out the photographers true skills
Well done

Excellent work, Jane! Fine images from some mundane scenes. I particularly like the 3rd....delightful fine art image imho, followed closely by the 4th and 8th.

That is a great set of B&W..I especially resonate with two, six and nine. I like eight as well, but feel you need to try maybe another process on the lighthouse shot to create another value zone between the water and the foreground, the stripes of grass and the sea are too close in value, but again maybe that's just my taste...anyway just a nit in my book it's a great set.
