Just thought I would get into the spirit of the holiday and post a few from last nights show. These are taken from the shore of Lake Superior looking towards the entry to the Duluth, Minnesota harbor. The bridge is the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge. This is the farthest point inland ships from around the world can get to by way of the Great Lakes. Hope you like them and advice is always welcome (can only help to make them better next year, right? :-)). All are with a Nikon D300 and 16-85mm lens.
Glenn,
I really like the last two images, as you did a nice job capturing the display.
If you don't object, I'd like to offer a creative suggestion... try doing a pano-crop... cut the black out left of the bridge and right of the display. Crop some of the black sky and crop 2/3 of the water out of the foreground.
I think that this will emphasize both the fireworks and the character of the Duluth (a place I've visited many many times as well).
cheers,
bruce
These look a lot better than what I got. Where were these taken? Is this from Bayfront? I was up in Enger Park, but was in a bad spot so I am not expecting much form my shots.
