Grandaughter having fun today on a waterslide in backyard. I like the color one better (lots of bright colors), however, thought I'd try a bw conversion anyway.

Really intriguing shot with the frozen water.
I find the spray on the left side of this shot really beautiful.
It's interesting how it makes her hand and arm look distorted, too.
I'm also drawn to the big drop right in the middle of her mouth.
Lots of interesting stuff going on here, and at the same time we're getting all the joy your grandaughter is experiencing.
Neat stuff!

Thanks Tim - I usually have difficulty shooting anything that moves This spring I tried taking shots of birds, and wow was I surprised at how difficult that is, especially in flight. Grandkids aren't quite as fast, however, I took quite a few pics yesterday hoping that a few would turn out. I shot at high sutter speeds, and used the telephoto .... took 156 shots in 10 minutes!
Thanks for taking time to comment.

Bill,
I totally agree with Tim.
And that single drop lined up with the middle of her mouth- that's a real wow!
One thing, though. Having to scroll from side-to-side diminishes my enjoyment of this great photograph. Sized at 800 would perhaps have been better.

Thans for the comments Charlie, and your suggestion on resizing to 800 is appreciated - and, a suggestion that I will heed. Than you.

Happiness at its best.
The unrepeatable moment.

Yes Marcelo - nothing like capturing the happiness of young children at play. I always have the camera out when they are around, and each of the thousands of pictures I have of them is pricelss (although, I have to say I have some when they aren't so happy)

Bill

That's a keeper, Bill. She is just full of joy and you captured it.

Bill, great shot with great emotion. Just to be different i would clone out that drop of water in her mouth!

I commented on a blur tomes picture a few days ago, i think for this image it isnt working, the whole point to this image is its warm and fun, the blue tone, for me, makes it look a bit cold and less inviting than it should be. a warmer tones image would give the reverse effect, which is why most portrait images are slued toward a warm white balance.

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion Martyn - maybe I'll play with it later. I know what you are saying about the tone, although I did try some others i ended up with this as I thought it added more 'snap' to the picture.

Bill
