p.1 #1 · Cash Crop (2)

Tim O'Neill and I just got back from a few days in the Palouse. There we met Ray Still (Abiciriderback) and Croce and his wife. Good company!

I thought I'd start by posting the true cash crop of the region, wheat. Not fields of it, but a bit more intimate view. The fields will come later.

Don,
Your work and vision are astounding. These two need a large place on your wall, if there is room

Fine pair, Don. As Henry mentioned, I like your vision.
I particularly like the 1st....really lovely soft light and very cool 'bug's eye view'.

Don

It was a great pleasure to meet you finally and to spend a little time shooting with you and Tim, Wish work hadn't gotten in the way.
Just gorgeous up close and personal views of the wheat here #1 with that soft gorgeous light is just stunning, as well as #2 with the light hitting the wheat, beautiful work here.

BTW for some reason UPS dropped off 12 cases of the good stuff today and I didn't even order this stuff, so yea I will have plenty for Sequim. Take care

Thanks, all, I appreciate the feedback.

Ray, you know that unsolicited deliveries can be kept, don't you? Well, I know that pepper is excellent.

Hey Don,

Very cool shots! I love the lighting in both of these and that close in look. Very nicely done.

Gorgeous light in both. I prefer the second my a small margin - love the DOF and bokeh.

Hello Don, exquisite views of what some might call a mundane subject. I particularly like the first one with the pale greens contrasted to the smooth pastels. Very well done

I remember seeing the first one, but that second shot just jumps off the screen. Well done.

Hi Don,

The first shot is a great and original take on wheat. The colors are great. It's crisp and I like how the wheat rises above the horizon, making it really standout well. The like color of the BG is bonus! Great job.

Don, these are wonderful. THe first, as stated. And the second is also great with super bokeh, which, combined with the sweet light makes a pleasing selection.

Hmmm, no clear winner, but that's all right, I like them both.

If I had the second to do over again, I would have probably removed one of the center wheat heads - it's a little crowded there.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Afterall, Hugh was right when he observed that these are mundane subjects.
