p.1 #1 · Inspired by Charlie's Ory gun

Was just two weeks ago that I stood at Cape Meares and looked south. I saw Charlies photos of his Ory gon coast and thought I would put one up of mine. Sometimes I am sorry to be so much closer to Cape May than to Cape Meares.

Digging the layers here and your conversion and toning work very nicely here. I would personally clone out the branches popping out of the bottom of the frame on the right hand side

Martyn and Ray,

Thank you both for your comments, I agree, I am going to try an get rid of some of that foreground stuff, it is distracting.

To borrow from the old fisherman's expression- a bad day at the beach is better than a good day working. And a good day is even better.
I love the coastline- sunny or overcast. This photograph brings back distant and recent memories of standing in about the same spot.
Long ago, those foreground trees and bushes weren't tall enough to intrude. They are now, so you're right- prune them outta there (in your computer, that is ).

Sonya,

I can hear the waves crashing from here. However, the things in the foreground are a little distracting. But we can't always have things our way

Lovely!

I like the foreground... it offers a place to stand and enjoy the view.
The windswept blur of the foreground trees lends a breeze as well.

Thank you Cheryl, you have a good point, I hadn't seen the foreground that way, but one does need a place to stand, a reference point for the feet.
