Just replaced my Epson 1270 with a R2880. Have not opened the box yet and a friend of mine says he hears today that Epson is about release upgrades to a number of their printers including the 2880. I have not seen anything indicating such but if I open this box and in the next week or so they do put out an improved version I'll really be ticked. Anybody else heard anything?
The R2880 is fairly new, so I don't foresee any exciting announcements in the near future.
It's already got the Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta inkset, and there's no way Epson's going to start offering the Ultrachrome HDR in consumer printers this soon.
