Here are some images taken from our recent trip to Smoky Mountains National Park. The wild flowers were out in full force when we visited and the sky decided to put on a show of its own.
As I was photographing this Trillium with the sun beams burst through the trees and started falling on the flowers. The brightest part of the sun was directed right at the Yellow Trillium in my frame.
Super shots! It's such an incredible experience to have the sun break through and spot light a subject like that while we are photographing. How cool that you were there to capture it! A great job in #2 also, some wonderful layers topped with a sweet strawberry topping!
Jay, I've always admired your work, and this is no exception.
Great compositions and post processing.
If your ever in the area let me know, I'll show you some photo opps.
Regards.
That first one worked out very nicely - hard to ask for more when it comes to incident lighting on your subject. The second one is a nice shot as well with the layered hills and suffers in this case only because you posted it alongside the first one
I love those foliage shots in the spring but there always seems to be a leaf or petal out of place. You nailed that one plus got the light to cooperate.
Lovely work, Jay. Great catch of that cool spotlight on the 1st.
Also love the wonderful hazy soft light and layers of ridges in the 2nd....classic!
Beautifully done.
The light in the first photograph was near prefect and was aided by the fact that the trillium was few inches taller then the rest of the foliage around it.
The only challenge was to make sure the the the flower was not over exposed.
