p.2 #1 · Tenba vs Kata vs Lowepro Sling bags

I have a Kata 3n1 30 coming hopefully tomorrow I sure hope I like it. The Tenba looks a lot like the Kata but it seems like most Tenba's I have owned I didn't care for. But reading this about the Kata it has me a little concerned but I plan to carry only a 70-200 2.8 and a 100-400 maybe a 85 1.8. One of the lenses will be attached to the 7D. So I am not dealing with a lot of weight

the Lowepro AWS 100 doesn't work with a Canon 5D and a 70-200

not too big and easy to carry in the town

At first when I read your original post, I envisioned that would be carrying a 1D, 5D backup, multiple lenses, and other miscellaneous gear. My shoulder (specifically the right) started to hurt! I will agree with everyone who would recommend a backpack to distribute the weight equally amongst both shoulders (really more like your trapezius muscle).

I have a small 100 lowepro sling, which I will carry a 40D and two light prime lenses. After reading your latest post, if you are thinking the same (5D and 2-3 lenses max) for a minimal kit, then the sling style bags may work for you as well. It really comes down to how much weight you are carrying with the unequal distribution. I personally wouldn't go with a larger sling bag, as there would be too much room to tempt you to bring more gear than you would want to carry.

EDIT: It looks like you snuck another post in on me. Well, if the 100 doesn't work for you, a 200 might do the trick. I would avoid the 300.
